SEASON ENDS WHILE NEW STADIUM CONTINUES
[October 2nd] -- That was a strange way for the season to come to an end -- wasn't it? -- with Chad Cordero, bat on shoulder, taking a called third strike. But regardless of how it ended, end it did. Seventy-one wins, ninety-one losses, (the Nationals) along with sixty-eight temper tantrums and forty-four miscellaneous items thrown at the computer screen (me). Wouldn't have it any other way, though (my boorish actions, not the seventy-one wins)
Feeling the inevitable post-season let down, I'm going to take the morning off and relax. Oh, I'm sure I'll find something prescient to say about next season while slicing and dicing the just completed campaign with my Popeil word-processor. But for now, I'm going back to bed.
The Beltway Boys will remain open for business throughout the offseason, publishing six days a week. Beginning our third year, I have noticed that I tend to have a lot more to say in the winter. I'm guessing it's because hope has a lot more to say that reality.
Thanks for visiting this season -- "y'all come back now, y'hear."
I just wonder how long it will be before we can go back to the website address I have bookmarked? (Wait, it's my fault, isn't it? As soon as I CHANGE my bookmark to the "temporary" web address, the original problem will be solved and we can all go back to normal. Right?)
It's been a pleasure reading you, Farid, and I look forward to a good, long Hot Stove...
